Happy Birthday to us! Another February means another Sand Surf Co. birthday, and this February 27th, we turn FOUR, I know…we can’t believe it either. This time of year, has us reminiscing on how Sand Surf Co. started. Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?
It all started with New Hampshire sisters Rikki and Remy Radkay. While growing up, Rikki and Remy found a love for all things sand and surf. This passion was fostered through the sisters’ jobs at New Hampshire surf shop, Cinnamon Rainbows. After moving to Tampa and graduating from UT, the sisters noticed a lack of affordable, yet quality swimwear in the area. And thus, Sand Surf Co. was born. Sand Surf Co. started with just three bikinis on the wall and two sisters passionate about what they were doing. In four years, it has transformed to a Westshore Marina District store, filled with hundreds of products ranging from swim to clothes, and an entire team of sandy babes!

The Marina District has allowed us to grow alongside many other small businesses and create a sense of community in the area. We have loved being a small business because we are able to offer product we truly believe in that is good quality, with price points for everyone. Investing in our community and our Sandy family, while spreading our love for the ocean, continues to be a priority of Sand Surf Co. As we look to the future, exciting things are coming. We will be starting Stand-Up-Paddleboard sessions out of the Westshore Marina in the months to come.
